Nathan Brown

Nathan Brown is the Managing Director and CEO of BCA Engineers and a founding partner of the privately held national engineering firm, which provides advisory and professional consulting services to the building construction industry. A Chartered Professional Engineer (Fire and Mechanical) and member of Engineers Australia and the Institution of Fire Engineers, Nathan holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of South Australia. Since graduating in 1995, he has built a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years in fire protection, fire safety, and mechanical engineering.

Nathan has practiced across both Australia and the United Kingdom, working with a broad range of engineering organisations, including multinational consultancies. Throughout his career, he has led and contributed to the design and delivery of residential, healthcare, commercial, and industrial developments of varying scale and complexity. His extensive experience has positioned him as a trusted advisor within the building construction sector.
With deep expertise in building construction and emerging technologies, Nathan is also a recognised innovator in fire and life safety solutions. He founded BCA Engineers in 2008 and later established FireM in 2017, a cloud-based data collection and monitoring platform integrating multiple fire detection systems for portfolio and maintenance management. In 2021, he spearheaded the launch of BCA Engineers’ electronics and fire safety IoT division, expanding the company’s technology capabilities and establishing operations in Southeast Asia and the United States.
